Acting training prepares you to live truthfully in a scene. It does not always prepare you to work on a professional set. There is a difference — and the gap between those two things is where reputations form quietly and opportunities disappear before you know they were ever there.

Essentials of Being an On-Set Actor is a 3-week class that gives you the knowledge, the awareness, and the embodied experience of what it actually means to be a professional on a real production. We cover what the industry assumes you already know — and what far too many actors are still figuring out mid-shoot.

THE 3-WEEK ARC:

WEEK 1 — The World of the Set -- A professional set has a language, a hierarchy, and an unspoken culture that nobody hands you a manual for. This week we map that world together — who you report to, who you communicate with, what your role actually is the moment you arrive, and what it absolutely is not. This is high-level, real-talk teaching that most actors have never received anywhere. Bring something to write with. You will use it.

Seminar-style session with real-world scenarios, discussion, and the kind of information that makes everything click into place. Actors consistently leave this session saying they wished they'd had it years ago.

WEEK 2 — The Energy of the Set -- How you show up between takes, between scenes, and while you're waiting tells the crew everything about who you are as a professional. This week we get into the room — improvisational scenarios, the good choices and the costly ones, the interpersonal dynamics that build reputations and the ones that quietly end them. You will play both sides of these moments. You will not forget either.

Experiential and on your feet. The knowing becomes feeling. That's where it sticks.

WEEK 3 — Working Under Direction -- A director gives notes to your scene partner. Not to you. What does that mean — and how do you stay grounded in it? A director says "can you do it bigger?" You don't play adjectives. You find the human truth in the note and you bring it — as a professional, in real time. This week we work with short scripted material to put everything from Weeks 1 and 2 into live practice. Under direction. Under pressure. The full production day experience, start to finish.

Being easy to work with, genuine, and professional isn't separate from the craft. On set, it IS the craft. Directors notice. They remember. They call you back.
